I would never send anything I valued to Mike's.  I'm sure they take better care of customer's reels than they do people buying stuff from their website but I wouldn't risk it.

I won't ship my gear to anyone other than the manufacturer.

Can't speak for Mike's Reel Service, but I've sent many of my expensive reels to Delaware Valley Tackle, a sponsor, and always get my stuff back quickly and in better shape than I sent it in...  He'll get more business from me this winter.

Looks like water transfer printing. Could be wrong but saw some cool vids on the tube of rims being painted
