Anyone else have this boat? I have a 55lb transom trolling motor I could mount on this baby. Looks like a brand new one with trailer would run around 3,500 brand new. Can two people fish out of this? Looking for something durable, easy to take care of that will last a long time that won't break my bank.

I have one, it has a mercury 9.9 on the back and 45lb edge up front. It's my first boat and I like it a lot. Very stable on the river and two people can fish out if it no problem. I don't know what types of water you will be on but I would think with just a 55lb trolling motor on the back you won't be going anywhere very fast. With the 9.9 on the back it is not very fast. I'm looking to re power at some point with at least a 25 go motor. The boat is heavy. I paid $1800 for mine with the motor boat and trailer.

A 55lb thrust tm will move you around, but not in a hurry. If you're planning on fishing small lakes it wouldn't be too bad, but if you're expecting to move a long ways with just a tm, plan on spending a considerable amount of time doing so. 

 

It's sad how high new boat prices are though. You're looking at spending 3500 on a small jon boat and a trailer and I paid about 3,500 for this

I had been looking for a boat on craigslist for years. This popped up and I took the day off of work and went and bought it quick. I bought it from a very nice 87 year old man that was liquidating some of his toys.

Nice, you must of inspected that boat in and out before you bought it. Fiberglass boats are tricky when they are older.

I paid 3700.00 for mine with a 75hp merc that would have coast that much.

Nice, you must of inspected that boat in and out before you bought it. Fiberglass boats are tricky when they are older.

I did give it a good once over. Despite what a lot of people believe though, they really aren't that tricky. It's pretty easy to see if it's been taken care of or not. Any of the Rangers made after the early 90's (don't remember which year off hand) don't have any wood in them anymore so you don't have to worry about the transom rotting out, soft spots in the floor, or stringers rotting. Granted you still want to check things out, but before I had the boat in the picture I had a 1986 Ranger 320V. I had that for 4 or 5 years and it served me well. There were a few very minor issues that boat had such as the original carpet was getting to the point it needed to be re-done and an original aerator pump had to be replaced. When I got rid of it last year the boat was 28 years old and had zero major issues. If they're taken care of they'll last a VERY long time. 

Good tid bit to know about the Rangers

I'm using a Minn Kota 55 to push a 14' canoe. With all my gear the best I can get on a perfect day is 4.2mph. 

The Grizzly would struggle in a big way with a t motor pushing it without gear. You need at least 25hp motor for that boat. The 55 would be fine up front for moving around when your fishing.

I use a 30 upfront on my canoe.
