Flipping Rod

Featured Replies

I have two 18 yr old Falcon rods which I love and have no problem with, they are both 7 foot long MH. I have decided to go with St. Croix Mojo Bass Series Casting Rod for my new rods and have gotten a 7'0" M action and with my great desire to own a boat soon I decided that I need a flipping rod.  I was wondering what length to get, should it be a 7'4" or 7'9" or 7'11"? Thanks for your advice and have a great Thankgiving.

If flipping is your goal, a longer rod is often better to reach hard to get to spots. Some folks use the terms pitching and flipping interchangeably, although they are not the same technique. I like a little shorter (I use 7'3") for pitching. I don't do enough flipping to justify another rod and get by OK with my pitching rod.
