Winter Power Plant Lake Fishing

Featured Replies

Did a little fishing on a local power plant lake last weekend, and threw together a quick gopro video. Caught nothing but white bass and dink largemouth, but it's still fun to catch them shallow in the winter! I'll be posting more videos on my channel, so keep an eye out if you want to see more power plant lake fishing.

My favorite lake is a power plant lake. Winter and summer. What lake is that?

It's Clinton Lake in central Illinois

Clinton is a blast, have you ever been to Newton?

Not yet, but we plan to go there early in the spring. Heard there's some hogs in Newton.

I've been catching bass on a rattletrap on my powerplant lake. What other baits are good for this time of year?

Our 2 power plant lakes around here produce on swim baits  (not paddle tail, the real ones) jigs, beavers, jerkbaits, cranks, spinnerbaits, ned, topwater....

I do pretty well with a bladed jig during the winter at the power plant lakes.

You could throw your bladed jigs in your back yard and catch fish
