Featured Replies

Going to Lake Ida Del Ray beach, I think,  anyone have informtion on bait shop close by.  I want to stock up on shiners for some peacocks.  Also any info someone is willing to share on places to go start anything else would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have fished Ida about 20 times over the last 20 years.  A rattle trap, and white spinnerbait in the main lake has produced for both peacocks and large mouth.  My main area is in the canal just north of the ramps on the west side of the lake.  With the high walls of the bank this might be a good area with a north wind.  I usually use 4" senkos, trick worms, and speed worms in the shallow canal.  If this canal is muddy, go through Lake Eden and run up the north canal and let the wind blow you back toward Lake Ida.  This canal has a sand bottom and stays a lot cleaner then the east canal.  Always catch fish offl the docks along the side canals.  Good luck.

Thanks for the info.  Had a great time on Lake Ida, I caught 21 peacocks and a few bass.  I could do that everyday.  Thanks for your help. Hope your catching a lot of fish.

Did you catch any clown knife fish? I usually catch those while I'm there.

No I did not.  Was hopping to but it didn't happen.  Did well on the peacocks though.

21 peas, sounds amazing!

How is the bank fishing in lake Ida or the surrounding canals?  Any areas that allow one to walk the bank and fish?

Don't got a boat but willing to make the drive up there if bank fishing is possible.  Especially with all the good reports of peacocks I have heard by that area.
