  1. Dade also, so many canals down here i can't fish them all
  2. I use shiners mostly. crank baits and spoons otherwise
  3. Went back to the C-2 canal last Sunday and had some more success. Much warmer in the 70s. Not as big as last week tho.
  4. A bad day fishing is better than any great day at work or school. Keep the stories coming, good stuff.
  5. Have seen people numerous times fishing and not releasing over 10 largemouths and smaller fish(not sure their names but i know they are what the bass eat). I have asked them for their fishing license, informed them of the rules, asked them to release the fish, and even called the cops before (but they were of no help). It's a jungle out there in Hialeah.
  6. Now that is what I call a comprehensive fishing report. Thanks for the update. Any pics to share?
  7. Amelia Earhart Park is my 2nd home. Next time you head out there give me a shout! Fishing is tough there because it receives a lot of fishing pressure, but their are nice sized largemouth in the large lake.
  8. Hey now, 50 is cold for down here. Was one of the coldest days we have had all winter down here.
  9. Fished the C-2 canal Sunday 1/24 from 10am-2pm. It was cold, about 50 degrees but warmed up as the day went by. Managed to catch 5 peacock bass, no large mouths.
  10. Saw this buddy earlier today while fishing. My rule, give them their space and do not bother them. Don't forget about cottonmouths also, especially with all the tall grass.
  11. Nice catch. Do they have teeth? Never caught 1 before, only bowfin which i thought was a snakehead at first.
  12. Good Luck, keep us posted on how you do.
  13. Texas rigged worms, and shiners
  14. I like to look for any areas or corners of the pond that have a slower current from the rest of the pond.
  15. I don't get it. St. Louis has some of the best fans in the country. A lot of markets, including my own, are band wagon fans. I feel for St. Louis football fans
  16. Speaking of variety, caught this little guy in the C-4 canal yesterday. I was trying to land some more peacocks and this was a definite surprise for me.
  17. Ok, went back yesterday after work to fish the same canal. Was having no success so headed further east by coral gables and landed this little guy. I was trying to land some more peacocks but this was a nice surprise. Was shocked to catch a baracuda in a canal so far from the ocean.
  18. They put up a great fight. I lost one that rocketed under a bridge and tangled the line among the bridge support beams. Clever fellow
  19. 21 peas, sounds amazing! How is the bank fishing in lake Ida or the surrounding canals? Any areas that allow one to walk the bank and fish? Don't got a boat but willing to make the drive up there if bank fishing is possible. Especially with all the good reports of peacocks I have heard by that area.
  20. I am by far NOT an expert but I have caught peacocks on just about every type of lure. Silver spoons are my personal favorite for me but that is just my preference. However, I have had days where I spent about an hour sight fishing the same peacock and have my lure completely ignored. Live bait shiners are a sure thing if they aren't responding to lures if you are willing to go that route. Caught these early this morning down in Miami using shiners Good Luck
  21. I was using live bait shiners. Worked a worm and a crank bait after I ran out of shiners but no luck with that.
  22. 100% The variety down here is amazing, even in urban settings. Love the canals down here, a bank fishermans paradise.
