I have a new 300e with a knob that has more play in it than I like.  

Does anyone have a simple fix? 

I have taken it apart and inspected it. The best I can tell is the inside diameter is just a little larger.

The cast control knob?

elaborate on the play. Is it an in and out play or is it loose on the threads? 

Its the handle crank knob 

It has some extra in and out play but also play on the shaft 

The bearing runs good and its securely fastened.  

Buy a kit of RC Car 4mm shims. The kit should have .05-.25mm shims in it. Shim from the bottom of the knob shaft to remove all play. Brian.

Exactly what the above poster said to do. Just add necessay shims from the bottom and it will work as desired.
