Bass Jig makers..

Featured Replies

Where is the best place to get skirt material, bulk jigheads, powder paint ect? I'd prefer to have the weedguard on, unless its simple to do.. Thanks.

I just made a few for the first time recently.  The ones I got came without the weedguard in.    I built a few on some jigheads I already had with the weedguard in too.  I found it MUCH easier to do with the weedguard not there.  All I did to add it in was a single drop of super glue and stick it in there.  Pretty easy.

D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y get your jigheads from GMAN on this site. He does a very good job.

Then get your skirts from www.fishingskirts.com. I would get the solid color ones instead of the Living Image. Much more color options. Easy colors to start out with are: black, blue, brown and green.

I get most of my stuff from fishingskirts.com  I like the living image skirts and mix some solid colors with the living image.

X2  Mike will take care of your needs.  If you want to do your own painting, get them without the weedguard installed.

X2, it's much easier without the weedguard in place, especially if you tie rather than use the rubber collars.  I use a single drop of locktite gel super glue to secure the weedguard.

how are you guys making the hole for the weedguard? I pour my own jig heads and use a small nail to create a hole for the weedgaurd when pouring. However, in my process after pouring and powder coating i have to drill the hole back out to fit the weedgaurd in. When i do this it sometimes causes the paint to chip. Any suggestions?

I use an extra pin for the weedguard hole.  Then dip them in the powder and remove the pin.  Works great.

I just drill out the excess paint after powder painting.  I only make jigs for my own use, maybe just a dozen at a time, so it's not really an issue.
