I'd love the chance to fish with Mike D, but I feel like that is the day I would go out and get skunked!

Maybe they'll decide to do a Lunkerville episode from the next Bassresource.com fishing trip.  That might be fun...

Mentioned this in another thread but I also find the FLW web series FLW Circuit Breaker to be very entertaining. While it isn't extremely informative into actual fishing it is a very interesting and fun look at how professional tournament fishing really works and the lives of those who are professional bass guys. I highly recommend it. This season is covering the 2015 season of Mark Daniels Jr, a 2nd year FLW tour pro. 

 

 

 

I hate that there are commercial breaks every two minutes.  The show is basically one long commercial.  Guess those shows are good when winter come thru, but could use tons of improvement.   Like having more trout fishing shows.  Never understood why ppl make a big deal of crappie fishing, sunny fishing. I guess I got bored with fishing for warm water fish.  Don't like fishing in pond or lakes.  But that's just my opinion. Plus there are way more streams to fish on than lakes or ponds. 

I like lunkerville,host is not advertising items every two seconds.also like a fishing story,not much fishing,but a good quality show if you listen to the guest stories.Bill dance is ok,cant get over how he handles big fish. Holding a big fish by lower jaw,holding it up to the camera looks painful to the fish?! Shaw advertises to much along with roland and scott. Timmy horton,honey hole. are very good informitive shows! Hank parker is also quality programming. It seems as though they could come up with more quality shows instead of repeating the same show over and over.MLF dont care for at all.bassmaster has changed,where there is not 5 minutes of fishing in an hour program.Flw is ok could be better with editing.Bring back the old show called a fishing hole,some of the classic are better.

I have WFN channel so I have a lot to choose from. There's one I can't think of right now, set in TX, and the host swears you only see what he and his guests can catch in a single outing. He fishes public lakes, but you don't see a lot of other boats. He probably fishes prime times and has to delete a lot of footage. But there are a lot of smaller bass in the show. That's how to know it's not just a 30 min commercial, chock full of other commercials. Some of these show hosts have to wear the same clothes for three days to make one episode.

The topwater episodes are pretty hard to fake and are the most exciting.

Watch a YouTube of a pro on a public lake in the middle of winter and you'll get a feel for real bass fishing. They fish all day for a bite (sometimes).

Bingo. They're info-tainment. Good call.

MLF is a lot of fun. But since we ix-nayed 
cable except for basic, we...okay...I miss
a lot of fishing shows.... 

I saw MLF for the first time the other day and liked it.Kept rooting for the last guy to get a fish that hadn't caught one yet.Didn't care for the attitude of a couple of them.But the show reminded me of the years I fished tournaments.For the most part the lakes I thought I knew the best I ended up doing the worst on.And the lakes I knew less,I did better on . Go figure.

Top shows for me are the Lindner's and Joe Bucher Outdoors.  Al Lindner is in the Freshwater Hall of Fame primarily known nationally as a walleye fisherman.  Joe Bucher is also in the FWHOF known primarily as a Muskie fisherman.  And yet both will fully admit their favorite fish by a long shot are smallmouth.  I find both shows highly informative in how to prepare, present, and catch smallmouth (largemouth too).  

Just started watching MLF this past year and that is really growing on me.  

I probably like shows more today from a learning standpoint and think the above 3 are some of the better ones ...

I forgot to add Lake Commandos.  Steve Pennaz is a quality guy and I like the set up of 2 guys developing separate strategies to figure out a new lake they've not fished before.  Isn't that what we do almost every time we go out?  Steve did the North American Fisherman show for 25 years and I learned a ton from Knot Wars!

I found this series this year as well. The Casey martin ones are the most epic! Truly inspiring and makes me want to fish the FLW circuit.

 

It seems like B.A.S.S. doesn't have much concern or support for the grassroots and weekend warrior anglers compared to the FLW. Perhaps that's my jaded view but for example, if I won the National championship this year, They wouldn't pay for me to fish the Elite Series next year and give me a boat and truck. You get to fish the Classic once and "try again next year."

Doesn't seem like much incentive to keep investing into Bass Nation Federation when they don't give much back to the anglers that do.

But I'm young, perhaps I'm just biased and lacking wisdom/ insight on the matter......
