h20 express dropping quality in higher end rods

Featured Replies

picked up a h20 express ethos nanos the other week. Fished it for 12 hours and brought it back to the store to get my refund. in their 60 and 80 dollar rods, i feel like theyre the best "bang for your buck" but the only difference between those and their nanos imo if the guides and handle construction. the rod itself didnt feel any more sensative than the others they offer, and on top of that it felt like i had line wrapped around my rod every time i was reeling. maybe it was a dud, but i took it back and got my refund, then bought a duckett ghost. have any of yall experienced this too, or is it just me? personally i think the "wrapped around the tip feeling" was because of the microguides but im no expert. opinons/thoughts?

If you had that "wrapped around the tip feeling" and it really wasn't wrapped around the tip I would guess that it is more with the reel than the rod.  I have several rods with micro guides  - the smallest guides being the micro magic by Duckett - and have never had that type of feeling unless the line was actually wrapped around the tip.

I would agree, it is most likely the reel. I have the ghost and one of the H2O micro guide rods and I haven't had any problems. I would clean out the bearings in your reel and grease them up. That should help

Hmm...

You might have threaded the tip through the side. I've done that a few times and your description is exactly how it felt to me, too.
