Howdy guys,

Looking to buy my own big baits rod, finally leave my buddy in peace (i used his more than he ever did). I'm debating between an D806 or one of the Swimbait rods they have.

I'd primarily be fishing 8XDs and 10XDs, then some A-rigs here and there, and some swimbaits in pinch situations.

I have an 806, it's my punch rod. That's way too much rod for XD8's & 10's and it wouldn't load up right for casting A-Rigs.

I ended up with an Enigma 7'11" MH crank rod, the Marten's line for the big cranks and I throw A-rigs on it too.

There are a million rods that would throw the big cranks well but I don't think you would like the 806 for it. Great punch rod though.

I assume he's talking about the 806CB.  It should be perfect for what you describe.  I have the 805RM and love it.  It can handle the 8 and 10XD but it's not ideal, the 806 should be perfect.
