About a week.

I ordered a Scorpion on a Friday, and had it in my hands on Monday morning.I couldn't believe it. Wasn't a fluke either. I made another order some time later, same deal. Four days.

Sweet then I guess I'm gonna go head an place my order. I sent them a question but never got an answer on why the site won't allow me to order more than 2 of the same reel, and it wasn't a in stock issue as I tried it on several models?

I've ordered on a Friday, and gotten it by Tuesday.  Of course it all really depends on how nicely the US customs office wants to be as they can hold things up if they want.

Not to digress, but is it possible that your rods/reels are available at Tackle Warehouse (see their JDM Tackle links)?  If it's in stock, I'd have a lot more confidence in them, in light of your time frame....  What are you getting, by the way?

US Customs can delay the process no matter how much $ you pay to expedite....

Somethin isn't working right every time I try to quote or reply it brings this reply up? Anyway greywalls I'm ordering the Metaniums and not through TW because they are $410 on there vs $260 through JT.

Anyone know how to reach these guys I have sent 2 messages from their contact link on the site and never heard back. First one I sent was over a month ago and then one today.

Drop them an email and ask about expedited shipping. Jun got back to me quickly when I emailed him.  Remember, Japan is +14 hours, at least from Massachusetts.

The Met is $319 thru Japan Tackle...It's in the $260's from Japan Lure Shop. I have never ordered from Japan Tackle but have from JLS and I believe I ordered on a Friday and received on the following Tuesday.

Just because some guys got their stuff in 4 days doesn't mean you will.  I've waited 3 weeks before for a reel, customs doesn't get in a hurry.

Your lack of email responses could have been due to the Japanese Holidays which took place not too long ago. Since those are over try getting a hold of them again.

I have ordered from 3 different Japenese vendors and the longest I had to wait was 5 days and the shortest was 3. Unbelievable how I can wait a week or 2 for something to arrive stateside but from there I can get it in half the time.

As others have said it really depends upon how long it sits in customs once it arrives. I believe some of the wait may be caused by which Customs office it comes to and to an extent your location. Mine have gone to Chicago Customs and then to me which so far has been a pleasant experience. It is kind of a roll of the dice but I would say majority of the time you should see it rather it quickly.

I don't think you're understanding.  Getting from Japan to the US isn't a problem and happens very fast.  Getting from Customs, (in the US) to you is the problem.  More often than not, a small purchase gets through quickly, you just can't guarantee that.  It could show up in a month with a duty fee due upon reciept.  It doesn't happen often but it does happen.

The shipping times will take the same regardless of the vendor as they send packages via EMS.  Both Japan Tackle and Japan Lure Shop do a great job of getting things shipped out, and EMS is just as reliable as FedEx or UPS.  The final deliver once it gets to the US is handled by USPS.

Either way you go it will all depend on how quickly US Customs officials release the package.
