Few New Builds

Featured Replies

Its been a while since I've posted any pics so I thought I would post a group of rods I've finished over the past 2 weeks. There is a mix of Batson, MHX, and Castaway blanks. I use 3.5mm batson micros and 4mm Fujis, mostly skeleton seats save the aero spinning rod and the ACS seats.

On the rod fourth from the top, it's hard to tell from the pics if those silver spots are bands or wraps. Either way, it looks good (all of them!). I'd fish it.

I turn down all my handle pieces. Early on, I used some pre form butts for my first 2-3 builds and I actually I learned to somewhat copy them.  The trim rings and rubber caps were bought from mudhole, and I turn down the top portion.

I really like the minimalistic one with the skeleton grip and only half of a split grip.  I want to try and make one of those.

great job, and excellent rods. Now put them to good use.

Thanks, only one of the rods were built for myself, the rest were built for others..

Top notch work as usual. One day ill show you how to use them.

Great looking rods there!

Wow.  Very very nice.

Great looking work there.  How do you like the MHX blanks?  Did those decals come from mudhole?

That is a nice batch of rods dick. It seems like the micro guide concept is really taking off.

The MHX blanks are a great value, well worth what they cost. I'd easily compare them to blanks that cost twice as much. *cough* st croix *cough*  ;)

I create/print my own labels, I've never bought them.

Yeah, I've been using them for a while now, and it appears they're starting to make the swing into the main stream.  It's really not a fad, imho they make a substantial difference when used properly.

What do you print them on (decal paper) and with (inkjet?  laserjet? other?)?
