Lake Ossippee NH in July

Featured Replies

Any tips or tricks for Lake Ossippee in early July? I go every year and the most I catch are perch. I Have caught tiny LMB about the size of the Rat-L-Trap is was throwing. Help!!!

I fish it in late September usually with a friend who has a house on the lake. Tubes worked great in the rocking areas. He throws cranks all the time and brush hogs/creature baits with success. I have caught largies on 5-6" senkos. We had a great time this past September night fishing. Catching smallies on large rat baits/swimbaits and him on poppers.

I live in ny and i am going to nh late april i believe the 24th, would big lakes like squam lake and lake Winnipesaukee should be open and not have ice on them?

Depends on the year. The way this year has gone you should be ok.

ok thanks any ideas on what to throw, i believe the main forage is perch, smelt, and crawfish. I was thinking texas rigs, wacky rigs, perch colored crankbaits and jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs

Best bet in July is to be on the water very early & very late or both.

May get topwater action during low light but as the sky brightens up I recommend a drop shot at the bottom of some steeper rocky drops.

The SK KVD Dream shot is a good bait for it but the real sleeper is the SK Rage Craw on the drop shot

Good Luck
