  1. I've had both reels for a while. I figure the line level and handle bushings are probably worn quite a bit. I don't intend on going full ceramic on any of them. I figure a abec 5 or 7 should make a sufficient difference. I was hoping to get the sizes before winter hit so I had a project while I'm stuck inside.
  2. Is there a size difference between a 100 and a 200 series Tatula? I'm thinking about changing all of the bearings in the 2 200's I have, but no one lists them as far as I can find. I know I can take the reels apart and measure but I'm lazy. Please help.
  3. I really screwed up. I was sitting somewhere around the 98th percentile and missed making a team for the last tournament. Now I'm down to 65%ish. There's always next season. My username is RivetSmasher.
  4. I'm in SC for about 2 weeks, visiting from CT. I'm trying to get onto some bass in Lake Murray. I've got an 11' kayak that I launch from the dam end of the lake. Any suggestions on baits would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to hook into a striper but since I'm newish to kayak fishing it worries me a bit so I'm leaning more toward LMBs and SMBs. TIA
  5. Got any links? I'm looking and can't seem to find many.
  6. I picked up a Cabelas Arachnid 100H for pretty cheap today. The reason it was so cheap is because it's missing the cast control cap as Daiwa calls it. I cannot find this reel in the Daiwa parts breakdowns anywhere. It's labeled as an Arachnid 100H but the tag on it says 100HL. Is this the same reel as a Tatula 100HL? Are the parts interchangeable? Where can I get a cap? Did I make a $50 mistake?
  7. How does a fish finder work? I fully understand sonar and how it works but I cannot fathom(no pun) how it's displayed. When you look at the screen is it just a cross-section of the water directly below you or does it show sort of an inverted funnel seen from the top down?
  8. This stuff needs to go. That is all.
  9. Is mono buoyant enough to float jig heads used in tubes? If I cast a weightless 5" senko into 30' of water will it hit the bottom or will the 6lb mono eventually stop it from sinking?
  10. Picked up a Daiwa Type HD Tatula 200H for $140 at Cabelas today. They're on sale for a bit but have limited quantities.

    Not sure.
  12. I'm heading to Columbia next week and would like a vaca. away from in inlaws. I'm considering renting a boat at Sesquicentennial State Park for a day and fishing the lake at the park. Any suggestions? Another concern I've got is snakes. They're not my favorite and I like to avoid them. I've seen a lot of posts for SC with people saying watch out for snakes. Are they a problem on the water or just typically on shore? Thanks in advance.
  13. Go faster, you'll clear it.

I cannot seem to get on the fish no matter what I do. I fish a particular lake several times a week. The bottom is mostly rip rap and water depth depends on where I stand. It can be a very steep 30ish feet or a very gradual slope to 10-15. There is little to no vegetation or laydowns. The lake gets drawn down through the winter to kill off shallow vegetation. It's incredibly clear. I'd guess about 20 feet. I know there are large bass in there as I've seen them. I've also found beds that were about 4 feet across. I'm getting frustrated. I've spent hours trying everything I own. Help
  15. Stopped at the lake on my way home from work this morning. I was throwing a jig with a Keitech trailer when I hooked up with a 2ish pound largemouth. On the next cast in the same area I got bit again. This time after I set the hook something felt funny. When I reeled it in I saw that I had hooked it in the eye socket and it just sort of laid there not moving. I thought I had hooked its brain and killed it. I unhooked it and put it back in the water. To my surprise it swam off. My guess is that it bumped the jig and I set the hook at the right time to snag it, not sure though. Thoughts?
  16. I caught a male today, he was still hanging out on a bed. He wouldn't leave the bed and there were no fry with him. I've been told the females head to deeper water after the spawn where they feed and recoup their energy.
  17. I spent an hour tonight trying to catch a large male hovering around a bed. I threw nearly every bait in my box at him and finally clicked on a PB and J jig with a clear/chartreuse Keitech trailer on it. He hate the tail off of one of them then stole 90% of another. The third one he inhaled. I put him back in the water about 3 feet from his bed expecting him to return to it.He swam right over it on his way to deeper water. Will he return to that bed? If he does, how long should it take?

  19. I'm in the same situation as you, quite literally. I live in Litchfield County and bank fish. I'm also frustrated that I can't get on the fish. I'm not sure what I'm missing other than practice.
  20. 1. I just read an article on here talking about LMB spawning times and behaviors. How can I tell if our area is into the spawn? Our water temps are still fairly low. The article said LMB start spawning around 60 degrees. This tells me we're not there yet. 2. The article also says that the male will stay and guard the eggs/fry. What are the females up to? Where are they, what are they doing? How do we target them and not the males sitting on a bed?
  21. Picked up my license yesterday and decided to put it to use today. My first cast since last November, first time fishing a new lake, first time using a Neko rig, caught a nice LMB. Just over a pound but nice none the less.
  22. Should I be picking my frog color based on the type of frog we have in our local waters? Seems silly that a bass would go after a yellow or black frog if we only have green/brown frogs. Am I wrong?

My local Dicks is having a sale on certain baits. Yesterday they had all of the *** and Live Target baits on sale buy one get one free.
  24. Does anyone have one of these? Can you stand in it?
