Heading to Columbia SC

Featured Replies

I'm heading to Columbia next week and would like a vaca. away from in inlaws. I'm considering renting a boat at Sesquicentennial State Park for a day and fishing the lake at the park. Any suggestions? Another concern I've got is snakes. They're not my favorite and I like to avoid them. I've seen a lot of posts for SC with people saying watch out for snakes. Are they a problem on the water or just typically on shore? Thanks in advance.

i don't know much about the fishing there, but i wouldn't worry about snakes on the water.  if you're fishing on the bank, just keep your eyes peeled.

I've been to sesquicentennial state park once but didn't catch anything.( That was in the middle of a summer day before I really knew how to fish though) I wouldn't worry about snakes in Cola, I've never seen one fishing. If you don't mind giving a report when you go to Sesquicentennial, I'd be grateful and good luck!
