Anyone on here from/fished around the Eau claire, chippewa County ares in wi? I'm on the hunt for new smallie fishing areas in the spring. 

Big falls in the spring. I've only fished it twice, but it is where I've caught the Smallie in my avatar (3-15). My friend that took me said it is a hit or miss spot though, and it is pretty difficult to get to. 

I mainly fish for largemouth around here.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never fished Big Falls, just plenty of swimming. 

I saw a guy yank a 30" pike out of a pool right at the base of the falls one year...it was pretty clearly just hanging out eating bait fish that got swept over.

I live in Bloomer and do a ton of largemouth fishing but would love to catch some smallmouth. I've only ever caught one (in Montreal, WI). Aside from Long Lake I don't know any good areas for smallies around here. I'd like some suggestions too if anyone is willing. I catch and release, if that helps at all.
