During my research for the one I wanted I found that many manufacturers make CC handguns for ambidextrous use, have you found what your looking for yet? or have one in particular in mind? make, model, caliber, fit, (full size, compact, etc...)

I went to a couple indoor gun ranges and ended up renting about a 1/2 dozen different models and calibers during my decision making process and when it was all said and done, I decided a Glock 20 was my handgun of choice and I am also a south paw.

However, would I say a Glock is the gun for you NO.  They have stacked magazines which make them have fat grips, not everyone is comfortable with fat grips.

I would recommend doing the same, it not very expensive to rent one to try and see what you like the feel of best.  If a handgun don't fit and feel comfortable to you, you will probably never be very good with it.   Try some with stacked magazines and single row magazines like the 1911 frame.

Ruger LCR or LCRx.

Solves all the issues of cartridge discharge, caliber, weight and you can get a laser on it!

I picked up a cz85db in 9mm. It's a amberdexterious cz75. I wanted it for my left hand, I'm right handed but I'm amberdexterious too from working under the dashboards at the dealership. I wanted a handgun that my left hand could operate. The cz's have a double action first shot feature too.

I agree go to the range and shoot as many as possible.I own several handguns, but the gun I carry is a Springfield xdm. The compact model. It has a 13 round magazine that is very compact. It also comes with a 19 round magazine for the range. It fits my hand and has a nice trigger.

By the way I only shoot lefthanded. all striker fired guns are ambidextrous. If you buy a gun with a safety, make sure it has a safety on the right side of the gun. I love to shoot 1911s and single action/double action guns, but I carry a  striker fired gun without a manual safety. these guns have a built in safety on the trigger, and a firing pin block, that will not allow the gun to fire unless the trigger is pulled all the way back.

the manual safety is one more thing to worry about in the unfortunate event that you actually have to use it in self defense.

Consider a wheel gun. I carried a 642 on the job for years. Paired with the right holster, it was easily concealed and comfortable for all day carry.

Depends on what you want to carry! Hardest part is finding a GOOD holster that's comfortable. Best option is Glock for finding a comfortable holster. I personally carry a walther PPS in 9mm single stack. An I carry Apendix. I know some don't like it but I do.

Another consideration is your size. bigger people have more real estate to hide things. I'm of smaller frame so appendix works really well for me. I know the bigger people have a problem carrying this way. Main thing is find  what way you like to carry, then start looking at options that suite that an what you can hide. There is always a compromise, I carry many different sizes due to what situations I'm in, An position of how it will be carried.   There is no one answer an one thing wont work for everyone main thing is try an find what works best for you.

Baby Glocks make nice carry weapons.  The G-27 packs and good punch and if you reload, you can make it fit what ever need you have.  Then you could go with the G-29 if you want some real fire power in and smaller frame.

I like the Glocks because they are small enough to conceal but big enough to still shot comfortably, and I have a rather large hand, like I wear a size 15 wedding band and have to buy XXL gloves.  I can spread a little over 10" from tip of thumb to tip of little finger and still hold the baby Glock comfortable enough to shot accurately.

I am a south paw but use the Gen3 right hand Glocks with no problem.  However, I think the Gen4's are ambidextrous

I always told my students that the safety on a striker firearm is between the ears of the shooter. I've seen more AD's with "safe" guns than I can shake a stick at.

I carry a couple different S&W revolvers or an HK P30SK, depending on my mood/dress.  The SK is ambidextrous ‘everything’ and except for the cylinder release, revolvers, to me, are pretty universal.

Keep shooting different guns and you’ll find the one for you.

Best of luck.
