So what should my next rod build be?

Featured Replies

Now that the cranking stick has been finished  I figured I would start on my second rod.

I am thinking either a finesse rod.  Something that can handle ned rigs, Slider heads,  and drop shots

Or a swim bait rod that can handle 6 inch Huddleston’s  as well as the Spro Rat.  I don’t really go up above 6inch swim baits living in Michigan.  unless I am throwing large bucktails for Pike

I an not sure if it is just the cool logo, But they seem to be in the price range I am looking  Right now the two rods below seem to fit what I am looking for I have been looking on mudhole and I keep going back to the Bushido blanks for some reason.

Bushido Drop Shot Rod Blank DS69/4-10

And the

Bushido Swim Bait Rod Blank SWB710/15-30

Any other  brands/models anything?  you guys would recommend me to look at in a similar price range?

Funny, Bushido has a very good rep for their cranking blanks. There line is good and deserves to be in there with geeks, Rainshadow etc.

go drop shot, will be more versatile for many other techniques.  Bushidos are great blanks at a great price.

I just built on a Bushido Spinner bait Blank and it feels awesome and I've done my test casting and it casts like a dream. Can't wait to get out on the water and fish with it.

I built a swimbait rod from a batson sw967 blank. 10 1/2" cork rear grip,6  1/2" foam fore grip, pac bay reel seat. 9 guides and tip. Fuji hookkeeper. use a 6500c on it. fun fishing it. not all that heavy either.

nice rod, even if I did make it.
