Pelican Bass Raider 10E

Featured Replies

I have been trying to find a boat I can take my father out in.  My father only has 5% vision and is 83 years old and he loved to fish.  We had a canoe but it has been repaired so many times there was more repairs than canoe.   He just does not trust going out in the canoe.  We did not fish at all last year and I really missed it.  After reading some posts in this forum I went out Friday night and bought a Pelican Bass Raider 10E.  My daughter went with me and even she was excited about going fishing.  We live in upstate NY and where we fish will be covered in ice for the next several months. At least we have plenty of time to get ready.

Thank you

A plastic 2 man was my first boat and I caught a ton of fish out of that thing. I think you'll really enjoy that a lot more than fishing out of a canoe.

I like blue had one as my first boat. Bought it in between 5th and 6th grade and fish that boat hard all the way up through college. Fond memories of that little boat and there's times I wish I still had one for a few really small lakes around me. Enjoy slaying the fish out of it like I did!

my brother has a pond prowler, same deal, and it is fantastic!!  i fished from a canoe all the time as a kid.  this raider will feel like fishing on solid ground vs the canoe!

Doubt you can get a more stable small watercraft, perhaps, but I'm not aware of one. Distribute the weight appropriately and there is no need for a rudder. A carpeted floor is a nice addition, plus some paddle clips for the paddle/lure retriever/push pole etc.  Oh, and you may want to upgrade those seats, at least for dear old Dad, his butt will thank you :)
