I need rod and reel help

Featured Replies

Sup guys, my birthday was yesterday and my wife said I could get a rod and reel. Problem is I don't know what to get. I'm mostly a bank fisherman. I currently own a Duckett ghost mh  with a lews ss1.  I think I want something to get my spinnerbaits and crankbaits further out. So bb1 pro? Tatula? What's a good medium action rod?

Walmart.com for a Tatula rod just over $100 not the XT. Or a Dobyns Fury for your rod. Tatula reels are a great deal on Ebay around $94.

Spinnerbaits are notoriously hard to cast due to their poor aerodynamics. Lighten your line , make sure the Rod power matches the weight you want to throw and flush your spool bearings to get max casting. Buy a new setup for a technique or application you can't cover with what you have.

Irod Freds Crank launcher Jr, 7'6" MH is ideally suited for you application.

Any good 200-300 series well tuned baitcasting reel in your price range should work.

It's the rod that cast lures.

YHow do I do this?

Rod: 6'6'' Falcon Original

Reel: Abu Garcia Revo S

That was my first combo and I could throw a little of everything. I learned a ton of techniques that way.
