A deal for all of those who pour lead

I just purchased an RCBS Pro Melt Furnace, they are on sale at Midway USA for $326.99 and with the $13.24 shipping charge it comes to $340.23. Here is the deal part, RCBS has a rebate that if you spend $300 you get back $75 making the final cost $265.23 to your door. I'm not 100% sure but I never saw these under $290 new, so if you ever thought about getting one now might be the time. The rebate goes on the whole year but the price on the furnace is a sale price, Amazon sells it for the same thing with free shipping but if you are like me and live in a state where they have a warehouse, you pay sales tax which in my case is more than the shipping cost. So there you go, if you don't already have one and thought about getting one, now is a perfect time and with income tax refunds coming back the timing couldn't be better!!

That is a good deal. The best rebate I saw from RCBS was $50.00. I might look into getting another one for a spare. Thanks for the heads up.

I hear that is the best melting pot out there. Sounds like a good deal!

I owned one of  those when I still had time to make lead stuff. It is the best lead melter out there if you can afford it. I bought mine used off of ebay for about $175 and sold it years later for the same amount.

If i were to make my own lead bank sinkers for saltwater fishing what would i need?

A melting pot, the mold, lots of lead. The nice thing with pouring sinkers is you can get away with using less than perfect lead because little imperfections aren't a big deal.

At least around $100 if you're going to pour very many sinkers if they're very big. Depends on what type of sinker too. Brass inserts add up quickly if you're doing very many.  If you can get lead for free or very cheap it helps a lot.
