Hey guys.....I just needed some reassurance on this question. ....I have a 2 bank charger that i am only going to hook one 12 volt battery to. So i read somewhere that you still want to connect the other bank wires to the one battery so that both banks leads are connected to the one battery.......is this correct? Just want to make sure i don't mess up anything. Thanks for the help.

Never heard that. I would just tape off the unused leads

that's what i originally thought......i just wanted to know if that would hurt anything.

There is no need to connect the second bank.  I'm not an expert by any means, but, it seems to me that if one of the banks develops a problem, it could damage the other bank as well if they are hooked up together..

True, no need to connect the 2nd bank.  If you're connecting bank 1 to your trolling motor battery, why not connect bank 2 to your starting battery.  Many of us do that, extra insurance and it keeps the starting battery maintained during times of inactivity.
