Happy New Year Everyone! Just getting into making my own inline spinners for something to do over the winter months. I want to make them for Bass and Northern Pike. My dilema is that I am not sure what wire gauge to use for either species. I don't want to go to light so that it bends the shaft if a decent sized fish grabs hold. I guess I am looking for any advice as to minimum/maximum size, from any of you who have ever made your own inline spinners? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I like .030 dia for inlines.

I like to make inlines too, mostly for bass, trout and salmon.

For bass, I use anywhere from 0.03x to 0.041 or so, depending on what's available, usually 0.031. 0.035 or 0.041.  I know many muskie folks start at 0.051 or even higher.
