  1. You are getting some good tips on presentation and times to go. Have you ever consider getting yourself some hip or chest waders? Could help you get out a little deeper to where they may be, at odd times during the day.
  2. Not that others will not work, but in my experience, I follow what .ghoti stated.
  3. In the past I have used the Eagle GT, HMX, and the HMG. I have enjoyed the HMX and HMG the most and they are great all purpose rods. I do not think you will be disappointed at all. esox
  4. Don't quote me here, and if anyone is in the know, please correct me, but I thought that some of Cabela's named reels are made by Daiwa, and Gander Mountains are made by Pure Fishing.
  5. Avid 66MF baitcasting. Has a great tip for jerkbaits and enough power to handle larger fish.
  6. Is there such a thing? Suggestions and opinions are welcome. Thanks, Esox
  7. I know online you can watch lindners angling edge episodes. Of course it is not always about bass but a variety of freshwater species. He has 13 episodes for 2011 & 2012, and I think 11 or so for 2013 ( this is how they are listed on the site).
  8. Here's a thought, what about a Float Tube, not the most glamourous but it will get you away from the shore. I had a buddy years ago that would wait till the water warmed up enough to be comfortible and then slap on some fins, jump into hs float tube and off he would go. Of course he usually fished smaller bodies of waters that did not have a high boat traffic, if it did he would keep it closer to shore for safety reasons. He used to catch some nice fish doing this.Tubes can run from 70.00 into the several hundreds.
  9. 1. Catch a bass on what I have dubbed the "A Jay" jig (shown by member A Jay in "Do you use skirts on your plastics" topic), and use jigs more in general. 2. Catch my first fish on a fluke and sluggo. 3. Throw more of a variety of plastics besides the senko. 4. Take my kids fishing a lot more.
  10. I follow this rule of thumb for the most part: single hook = braid, treble hook = mono.
  11. Thinking about trying a few and wanted some feedback from any of you who have used them. Thanks in advance.
  12. I really like the loomis brand (own a gl3) and the fact that they use full cork on their MBR and Mossyback series. So with that said, I am pulling the trigger today on a mbr843c imx today for senkos and t-rigged plastics. I am also going to pickup one of these two: Another mbr843 imx, or a bcr804c. This rod will be my primary jig rod for pitching mainly. If you had to choose, which would you choose and why?
  13. I always use a trailer, but never a trailer hook. Anyone recommend a company that makes a quality 3/4 oz spinnerbait?
  14. Awesome! Another great addition to Bass Resource.
  15. Looking for some input in regards to sensitivity between the 6'8" BCR804C and the Avid 7' MHF? Primarily for jigs and maybe the occasional worm.
