Lews Tourny Pro Part ID

Featured Replies

Could someone help i.d. this part in my lews tournament pro please. I was in the process of cleaning my reels and rods when this reel was making a unusable noise. It also was though at time to crank the handle when the thumb bar was depressed. If I were to guess that what ever this part is, is to blame.

When I disassembled the reel I found this part and the small detents spread out. Also the anti reverse was not working. That is my guess of what the part is.

Any help would be great both Id and a solution. Thanks

Got a schematic? That's part of the roller clutch bearing, once the pins are in and the plastic housing is In the metal brace it should only roll one way.

I've never taken them out of bc reels but on one of my spinning I add a little grease to hold the pins in until I can assemble it

It's commonly called the anti reverse bearing. The roller bearings should be in the cages. It's possible you could reassemble it. I'd order a new one by calling Lews. You'll just have to tell them which reel you have.

If it came apart inside the reel it's done and there may be other issues. That's the anti reverse roller clutch. It may be available separately or you may have to buy a new side plate if it's press fit.

i'd call lews for sure.... my buddy lost his whole sideplate in the lake on his TP the other day, called them up and they shipped out the whole sideplate assembly to him for $15 total!!

I have had a few reels serviced at your shop. I'm leaning towards sending this sick puppy your way. Would this reel be serviceable at your shop?

if mike can't fix it, you've really got a problem!!  mike has cleaned, serviced and supertuned a few for me with stellar results.  i have also sent in 2 reels in need of some troubleshooting and mike fixed it like it was nothing and had the reels back to me in no time at all.

Yeah I agree with Mikes work.

Update: so I got the bearing back together and in place but the reel well not crank?!?!?! The reel is FUBAR at this point. Mike might be headed your way very soon.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to send it for a thorough inspection. Those rollers loose inside could have affected other parts. Send it along at your convenience and I'll get it asap.
