Reel seat - Pics added

Featured Replies

I took a Dremel to two Fuji TPS seats and carved out a couple of decent looking ECS seats. Is it necessary to seal them in any way?

Pictures added. Certainly not beautiful but, the feel is markedly better. This is the exact same Fuji TPS 16 reel seat on Castaway rods. I was afraid to go too deep. Carving out for better feel and comfort was the objective. I always liked the rod but, not the reel seat. I did another reel seat as well. That one had about a 1/16" of white glue surrounding the blank. That usually means a smaller diameter seat should have been used. On the other hand, it made it easier to see where the blank was while carving.
