Both Cabela's and Bass Pro have these combo's with Pflueger President spinning reels for the same price...only thing different is the rod. Which rod is better and why?

    Tourney trail is an im8 rod.  The bps is a lower grade imho.

    IMHO almost all of Cabela's branded stuff > than most BPS branded stuff...........not saying BPS stuff is junk, just that dollar for dollar, I prefer Cabela's.

    I have 1 Bass Pro rod and hat it. Have 9 of the Cabela's Tourney rods and love them and gave more for the Bass Pro rod.

    I've very limited experience with the BPS rod but I bought my brother in law one for his birthday and took him fishing that day. The rod broke one of his first cast of the day and he fished with one of my rods the rest of the day. He returned it and the same thing happened next time out. I wouldn't use one if someone gave it to me.
