I'll say the hybrids/white bass love them I bought the lemon shad one last week and caught 3 on the first 5 casts.  I'm sure the green bass will go for it as well I just couldn't get it past the white fish lol.  

Overall I think it was a good bait far as the underspin. I don't think it's better than a fishhead spin but on par with it, and better than the strike King versions.  The trailer was nothing special just a paddletail with the basic action.

i've never tried these.  they look just like the grown up road runner/bait casey ashley was tossing at hartwell so i imagine they'll work.  looks like a quality swivel on there which seems to be what sets most of these "underspin" baits apart for me.  allows that blade to get movement even on the slowest retrieve.

Yeah, I know a little bit about "search".

I am looking for input from any of our members that have fished the lure. This is THE LURE that won the 2015 Bassmaster Classic.

 

I almost bought one the other day. They were too expensive for the perceived value for me to pick one up. I'm going to be buying some of the Casey's Classic heads they are currently $2.99 on Cabela's website. Looks to be very similar but without the paddle tail, which I have no need for. I religiously fish Big Bite paddle tails. I look forward to getting some and trying them out, I think they would be very good when the bass are suspended, which they were for the first 3/4 of the month, so will give them a try when I am faced with the same conditions. Sorry for the writeup with the lack of true feedback, but that is my 2 cents. I'd like to hear what others say as well. 

Look exactly like Aaron Martens underspin he did for Blakemore about 5 years ago.

The Howell version is a big road runner.  The Ashley model's head is different, the blade is also upsized as well from the Howell version.  I don't mind these for flukes but prefer the Northland Tackle version (Thumper Jighead) in a 1/4oz size for smaller swimbaits as it has a traditional swimbait head (works great with the smaller Hammer swimbaits)  and I like the small colorado/indiana blade it comes with.  Has just enough thump and flash and have done better with them then any other underspin version.  Hope this helps.

Yes sir. Toss that plastic in the trash can and put your favorite slim bodied paddle tail on it. The jig itself is pretty nice. The blade turns at slow speeds and the hook is plenty sharp to stick a fish right out of the packaging. The plastic bait that comes with it is so-so, it didnt have any "roll" to it what so ever which is a key attribute to a good paddle tail.

Thank you!!  I see all these "new" underspins and all the hype and how much these cost and I then I tie on a 1/4 or 3/8 Thumper and laugh.  Bought a bunch from Northland a few years ago and ain't found much they can't catch.
