Let us say that you can only have one baitcaster and one spinning rod for fishing ponds, what # test line do you use for each? What baits and techniques do you use for each? ONLY 2 RODS AND REELS!!!!

#20 braid on spinning, use it for anything thats 1/4oz or lighter.

#40 braid on baitcaster, everything else

Guess it is still not warm enough for many of us to be out on the water yet.  Oh well.  At least we are still enjoying our sport even if it is only answering "What ifs". 

If fishing in a lot of weeds, then I would be like bigturtle except I'd drop down on line size for the spinning rod.  I prefer mono or co-polymer lines.  If only fishing occasionally in weeds, I would prefer 8# mono or co-polymer on the spinning and 12# mono or co-polymer on the baitcast.  My baitcast rod would be a MHF.  My spinning rod a ML or M Fast or ExtraFast depending on its lure rating.

About the only lures over 1/4 oz. that I wouldn't use on the b/c rod would have treble hooks.

For the baitcaster I'd chose a mh/f rod spooled with16# Sniper flouro and use it for all bottom contact presentation's. The spinning outfit would be a m/f rod spooled with straight 20# braid for wacky rigs, shaky heads, skipping under trees and brush etc.  I don't use leaders.

A medium spinning rod and a.med heavy casting rod

hmmm. I would use 30# braid on caster to cut through the lillies with cranks and poppers, and 12 # mono on the spinning for the plastics I would use bumping along the bottom.

Assuming not many weeds or trees in a pond, I would have a Med Fast spinning rod, 2500 size reel with 6# AN40 copolymer

Baitcaster rod MH fast, Reel something around 7.1:1 with 10# Seagur Invizix fluoro

12# big game on the casting setup.  toss whatever you want on that unit.

6# or 8# copoly on the spinning rig and toss anything up to about 1/2 oz on that.

i fish a few different ponds around the area and those 2 setups will work for everything i'm throwing.
