What is the lightest size flourocarbon you guys use for heavier jigs (3/4oz. plus) with heavy gauge hooks? I'll be fishing sparse cover and relatively open water. I've never used heavier line than 12lb. flouro and I  think 12lb. might be too light for heavy gauge hooks.

17lb fluoro is the lightest il go for 3/4oz, but I usually use 20lb when fishing in/around cover

Nothing less than 20# for me in heavy cover and for heavy jigs  

Sometimes it may be a little over kill, but If I hook one she's comin up.

I think for these conditions 16 lb sniper would work well.

Mark me down for 17lb flouro.

20# for 3/4+. 3/8-1/2 in sparse cover gets 17#. There is a big difference between 17 and 20 IMO. 

Thanks for the the tips. I'm definitely leaning towards the 17-20lb. flouro now.

17 LB Sufix Invisaline Floro for me

When I went down to Oviachic in mexico all the fish were in heavy flooded timber.  I threw Mean Green 12lb and Yo Zuri 12lb.  Pretty much all I use unless I'm punching or the cover is CRAZY.
