Just saw the 6 piece Megabass Hyuga. It's a 7 foot light rod. Could a 6 piece rod possibly be good? If it is decent I may have to snag it. Shouldn't get hit too hard with customs fees either. 

How long of a Rod is that ? Lots of high quality multi piece fly rods catch fish bigger than bass so in theory I would keep an open mind  but remain curious as to the reasoning behind such a Rod design. 

when i went to japan and walked into different tackle shops they were full of multi piece rods you would be surprised at how different our markets are.

I am going to assume that many Japanese fishermen utilize far more public transit then most Americans do, especially trains, to get to the water.  I don't think a 7' rod would win you many friends if you were dragging it around the station, plus all the chances to break a tip.

So does that mean no fees if items are under 800?
