Any thoughts on the Zodias Rod

Is the Zodias Rod worth 190$ ?

  • Super User

I have a 6'-10" Medium baitcaster and use it for square bills and spinnerbaits.  I'm mostly a St. Croix guy and the Avid X is in the same price category.  But the tip action seemed just about for what I wanted this rod to do.  Have had it one season and I would say "yes" its a quality rod.

I love my Zodias. It's super crisp, very sensitive, and looks awesome.  I think Shimano's new warranty makes their higher priced stuff a bit of a hard sell though.  A lot of companies out there have much better replacement options.  If I'm only basing my decision on the rod's performance and build, I'd say it's absolutely worth the price.  Do I think there are comparable options out there with better warranties?...definitely.
