Action for Frog rods

Featured Replies

Do you guys use a fast or extra fast?

Secondary question, what length rod do y'all use?

I use a 7'3" Heavy/Fast jig rod.  I'll step up to a flipping stick if the cover is really heavy.  I don't feel like taper matters, unless you're more concerned with casting than catching.  That's where I think most frog rods fall short.  They may cast a frog a mile, fish it with pretty precision, but aren't capable of pulling a toad out of the slop.

I use a falcon bucoo heavy moderate fast. Its right in between a fast and a moderate. Give it just enough action to cast frogs a mile. And just enogh bbackbone to pull out the biggins

6'10" medium heavy fast.

I use a 7' 4" H/F rod for frogs
