I recently was given a gift of a new St Croix Legend Elite light power fast action 6 ft 6 rod.  I fish primarily for Smallmouth and largemouth bass. Is there a suggested finesse application that this nice rod would shine at in fishing for these large fish.  I fish out of a kayak and would really like to use this rod on small lakes and docks for its sensitivity.

 

I would use it for open hook techniques mainly in open water. Something like a grub, wacky rig, small cranks, light drop shot it should be able to handle. Using light braid with a leader would help compensate some for the light rod.
