What type of Bass Boat?

Featured Replies

Well if you mean what company, i like Ranger Skeeter and Basscat and Triton Aluminium and the motors would be yamaha and mercury and last would be evinrude.

If it was based on pure speed and looks I would go with the Gambler...

The Gambler I have is the 19 foot Intimidator. The front deck is huge. There is plenty of room up front for two people. The only complaint I would have with this boat is the back fisherman doesnt have much room to fish. If he or she wants to stand to fish it is fine. If the fisherman wants to sit and fish the seat is so far forward that they cant help from having their shoes on the top side of the bench seat.

If I were going to buy a new boat I would look at the new Gambler 21 foot and also a Triton. I was at the Bassmasters tournament here in Florida and the ones the pro's use for the last two days of the tournament are really nice boats.

I'm with squid then...ranger....or triton :o  By the way..I need a boat!...Know anybody who wants to buy a 2002 Sea Doo GTXDI?

LOL...ok smarty pants...lol   I like the Triton TR 176 or LARGER Magnum, The aluminum boats are cheaper than glass, and run just as well as glass.  The one advantage that I have over glass is I wont worry to much about coming into a rocky area or a stumpy area with my hull.  Now my motor is another thing...lol  Always worry about the lower unit.  I have scratches on my hull from under water dock stakes, where if I had a glass boat I would have a nice big HOLE in it.  So if they ever make a 21 foot aluminum bass boat...I will be all over it...lol

Yeah, Triton also max's out at 200hp...don't know if I am ready for that speed yet...lol  My 115 pushes 55+, that is good for this OLD boy...lmao ;D

I'm with Squid on the alum. Triton. Try to take a glass boat in areas where squid and I fish. at full tilt we will clear 3" of water try that with a glass boat.

The G3 boat, i'm looking at that for a future boat, they have some nice features on these boats.

I broke in my fishing partner's new Ranger Z20. All I can say is, WHAT A BOAT! That boat is so different from any other boat I have been in. You have to try it before you will know.

I have my father-in-laws old  17 Champion with a carbeurated 150 Mercury (gas drinker).  I've noticed that there aren't many Champion drivers on the board.  I like the way mine (or his) rides.  I've also ridden in my wife's uncle's.  His is newer and handles great.  I have to admit that I fish out of my jonboat more than anything.  No gas to buy, just charge the battery and go, go, go.  Easy on my pocket book$$$.  Besides, I have better luck on the small water anyway.  ;D

I have a 93 Stratos 274 DC with a 150 Evinrude. Two Lowrance X85 , Garmin GPS and a 54 lb trolling motor.Boat runs 65 MPH.with two people.

I really enjoy my Bass Tracker 185.  Plenty of room and a 50  h. p. Mercury is enough for me.

We bought it brand spanking new in 2003 and my wife,  the kids and I just love it.

I guess you could it say it...Get's ur dun"..... ;D

if i'm just looking for a cheap boat that will do the job, what would you sugest, nothing to expensive but something that me and some budddies will be able to fish on and have a good time?

I have a Stratus F219 fish and ski. With a 150. When we first got the boat we got it up to 73 GPS. and the was fast. Then we spun the prop and we havent hade the same speed from that boat. So I am thinking it was a different prop.
