Reel Handle

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a new handle for my Lews casting reel. Right now it has a 85mm handle. I found a 95mm for it, but will 10mm make that big of a difference? That's like what a 1/4"?

It will make your cranking  a little  easier, especially  with resistance  lures.

Yeah I would think it would help some. I had actually been thinking about trying to get a handle like that for my Lew's. Where did you get yours? All the aftermarket ones I have seen are stupid expensive.

The cheapest carbon fiber one that I found is $37

Only 10mm but that's 12%

pretty sure that site sponsor Hawgtech makes a 102mm for Lew's

Daiwa Zillion Tws 100 mm complete  handle assembly, 26.99 at the T Trap. It will strap right on, and then you can ditch those lame Lews knobs!

Actually you are only gaining 5 mm length, I doubt it will make THAT much of a difference, remember that you are only cranking with half of the handle length.

my lew's pro z have the eva knobs which i MUCH prefer over some of the others that i've tried, even the septon knobs which i like as well.

You only use 1/2 of the original handle so it's still a 12% increase which I would assume is substantial.  I'm not sure what lewe's reel you have but assuming it's in the $150-$200 range that $37 dollar handle is roughly 18%-25% the cost of the reel.  Will it make the reel 18-25% better?  That's up to you to decide it's your money.

You're question was will 10 mm make a NOTICEABLE difference. Yes it will. 15 mm even more so. Put two bearings under each knob and you're in business. With the Daiwa handle you can use a number of different knobs. Slp, Rcs, cork, etc. Just pick your color.

I have the  TLM1SHL . I found a 110mm carbon handle that I might give a try.
