Congrats! i cant wait to graduate from my kayak to a boat. Dont get me wrong, i love being able to hit small ponds on my kayak, but want a boat sooo bad.

Glad to hear this BCB. Wish you the best of luck with your new wessel. How did the launch go?

Went great. I launched by my self, it's no big deal on a slow ramp. Putting on the trailer, that's a different animal.. I wish I knew that the trailer should be 100% straight before attempting to put it back up. haha

It was Sunny and 70*, great spring day in Wisconsin. Saw plenty of bass cruising the shallows.

BCB, in time you will learn how to get the trailer situated correctly in some difficult approaches.

How did you do on the opener? We only lasted about 2 hours in the morning, the lake I was on was a wind tunnel and got really rough with that bitter wind. Still managed two pike and a solid bass before we gave up, hope you had a good opener.

And go figure Sunday morning was beutiful lol. You will get the hang of trailer in it, just takes practice, you will be a pro in no time. Boat looks nice, as you figure out storage and stuff you should post some pics, I have customized my boat a lot over time with some cheap homemade add ons to make it even better, tinkering with it is half the fun lol.

Well, my opener was dismal. 25mph winds, but managed two bucket mouths.  I went out for about 4 hours today on upper and lower Phantom lake in Mukwonago. Was sunny and calm, still rough fishing. Only got a pike and lost a bass. This lake is notorious for getting POUNDED during ice season, so I am assuming its tapped for the summer already. Didn't even see any bass cruising.

I doubt it very much. Our fish are in a funk right now as well (at least they were on Fri). The weather is still too unstable, one day cold the next warm, water gets to 65-66 then drops to 52 in 3 days.. all puts stress on the fish!

I've never seen a lake get pounded by bass fishermen on the ice, but I guess its possible. Not possible to be fished out however.

Most ice fishers on that lake keep anything of legal length. I've seen people walk off with five 12" bass every day. The population is probably pretty low to begin with, it's not a very well taken care of lake.

Congrats on the boat. What kind did you get? I see the pic but I don't have the best eyes and couldn't tell you what it was if I was standing on it as my boat knowledge is well extremely lacking on all the different models.

I hope to have my new used boat this week.

Was trying to think what is down your way, I am not even sure what would be good though. I thought at one time lake Beulah near east Troy was pretty good, and a quick check showed that they run bass tournies on Tuesdays so the fishing must still be ok. Of course you have Lake Geneva as long as you are well before Memorial Day or after Labor Day, now that I have a rig I would love to give that lake a try again.

Pewaukee Lake, and Okauchee are only 20 minutes from me and are great fisheries, I just haven't gone there yet because it's a zoo on opening weekend.

Congrats on the new ride!  Now if we can just get some decent weather to enjoy using it that will help!

I was out on pewaukee for the opener and it seemed like bumper boats at times with the wind and people seeking some calmer water.  My wife and I did pretty well. Definitely double digits for bass and I got a bonus walleye out of a lift with a ned rig. It was an odd day.  Didn't see too many others pulling in fish. Most were cought on shallow weedless areas. Finess in the morning (Ned and float and fly), then dead for four hours, then I had 5 in about a half hour plus my wife lost a few all on spinners in the afternoon.

Thanks for the report. I am going out to Okauchee tomorrow at 8:30am after work. I'll let ya know how it goes.
