Okuma Scott Martin Signature TCS Casting Rod

Featured Replies

Anyone own or have experience with his 6'10 MH Fast tip rod? He calls it his All Purpose Rod. Any info or thoughts on it appreciated.

Thanks

The reel seats feel cheap and the reverse tapered foregrip is a little uncomfortable if you palm reels. However the styling is nice, build has been good on the ones I have seen, and they are appropriately sensitive given the price. I also think the hook keeper is in a silly place.

I have three tcs combos and they're my favorite. A few members here did some reviews on them you can find if you look. I personally like the reel seat gives you a lot of contact with the blank. I also like the tapers just make sure you know which one you're getting, they run moderate on most models. I have the 7' jerk/crank, the 7'6 flipping/frog, and the 6'9'APC I use for chatter baits and spinnerbaits. Great deal especially since I got most of my rods on sale for around $95 at redsgear and they MSRP at $150.

Like Cgrinder said the only thing I really don't like is the hook keeper as you see in the pic.

I have 2 TCS rods and really like them.   They're extremely light and sensitive.

Here's one of my reviews on a 7' model: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/okuma-tcs-rod.html

JFrancho did a review on the model you're looking at: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/scott-martin-okuma-tcs.html

Roadwarrior also did a review on the same rod: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/tournament-rod-reel-okuma.html

One of the best rod & reel combinations I have reviewed. I think you would like it, too!
