Do you wear a buff when fishing 2.0 - anti-fog solution for sunglasses

Featured Replies

My sunglasses were fogging up with just a plain buff, so I added an N95 mask underneath. I used a hot glue gun to attach it. These masks are designed to be somewhat airtight, so by cutting a hole in front and some slits in the buff I was able to give my breath a place to go and keep it from going up under my sunglasses.

N95 masks are like $15 on amazon for a box of 20.

I don't like the way those N95 masks feel on my face.

When I experience my glasses fogging, I usually just take my nose out and breathe through it.  Some buffs are thin enough that it doesn't seem to fog as much.

Thats the major downfall with the buffs.

When the Buff - Mask combination becomes soiled, can it be laundered ?

Probably not. One of the downsides.

I can't stand wearing those masks when tearing down drywall, let alone having it on all day while fishing. I like to be comfortable while fishing. If my glasses start fogging, I pull my nose out of the buff.

The Simms Sun Gaitor not only has an improve ergonomic shape but has facial ventilation to allow human exhaust to escape.

Not 100% fog proof but better.

I hate those masks, I would rather just cut a hole in my buff or pull it down a bit

I use one of these.  Normally have SPF 50-80 on my face anyways so many use the buff to keep my neck from becoming sunburn and my lips becoming wind burnt running down the lake full speed.  No issues with fogging when you're moving.  But these have the vents in the front that keep your glasses from fogging up and are a bit cooler then a couple other buffs I use as well.

simms sun gator works better than a buff, also i really really like Missle Baits face protection thingy.

I have heard that spit and baby shampoo have been used by scuba divers, I have yet to try this with my Buff, but hope that it works out.

Great idea. Also good for ridding the subway in Japan.  :)

I wear N95 masks at work for safety from airborne disease. I hate them.

They're awfully stifling, even in a 75-degree patient room. I can't imagine wearing one on a hot, humid summer day.

Why not just buy a better buff that has ventilation, or wear it under the nose and utilize a little sunscreen on the tip of the nose?
