2 slow days and one great Erie day

Featured Replies

Friday was a high pressure cold front with only 5 largemouth, biggest being 1.5#. Saturday was windy rainy and shutdown. Sunday bright skies and low pressure and warming water all day got the bait up on the flats and once I found them the bite got better all day. 36 total, my wife caught 6 and I caught 29 all over 2# and several over 3#.
Erie is always in control but some days she gives up her bounty.

In the spring there is no place I'd rather be.

Nice catch Zip!

I don't think so.  He's a big Vision 110 fan.

Great day!  I need to suck it up and make a trip to Erie.  Erie smallmouth are so fat!

Good luck out there. All the reports I have heard indicate a change in the fishery from previous good years. Last year & this year so far seem to have the numbers but drastic reduction in quality fish over 5 lbs. Six lbers have been rare which was not the case previously.

Absolutely... Always a good feeling to know that one of the best places in the country to fish is just 10 mins away...

That glass makes the fishing tough and all the boats kept the fish spooky. I camee home today because of all the pressure.

We didn't get to leave on Friday as the wife had a late appointment at work and didn't get home til 9.  Left early on Saturday and just used it to open up camp and relax.  Got out Sunday for a few hours and it really sucked.  I got one on a spybait, the wife got one on a tube and I got 2 drum on a Vision 110 and 3 rock bass and a goby on a dropshot.  When pulling the boat out, the rear brake line blew out on my Tahoe.  No fishing on Monday cause the rental didn't have a hitch!

Leaving from NC next sat the 11th. Its all i can think about while im at work. lol

Good luck to all of yall fishing. I managed to catch close to 30 smallies in a river in E. Tennessee on Monday. Up to 3lbs. The bite was on most all day. Really hoping to catch a 5 plus at Erie! That opportunity doesn't exist in the south for smallies.
