7’3” or 7’6” for jigs
Buy a DC744c and call it a day. The best jig rod ever made. And I own Xtasy rods.

Dobyns Fury light power
FR661sf will fit the bill nicely. Or any of the 1 power rods. After that I think the rods are too stiff for trout. Dobyns rods are designed for bass fishing.

Targeting Trophy Smallmouth
I have caught 6+ lbers on cranks, jerks, 4" crosstail shad, spinnerbaits, wacky rigs, ned rigs, hair jigs, mop jigs, keitechs, roostertails, and flukes. Just have to be where they live and throwing something they will react to. Isn't this why most bassmen have a deck full of rods.

Dobyns rod warranty
They will send out a new guide if you call them.

Dobyns colt
I honestly have no problems with the Colt series. But prefer the Fury and up because of the cork grips. All of Dobyns are very well balanced and that is where most of the sensitivity comes from.

Which Reel?
Tatula sv is very good for the money but the pixy 68 is outstanding.

Is It Worth It?
The Dobyns should work but I would go with the 745 for dragging deep water. The 7'8" has a lot of tip action.

I've got $300 and I want to buy my 1st Daiwa
Pretty much the same reel but the zillion sv tw throws baits a hair farther and the sv103 has a little more control on light baits. But I am splitting hairs. Both are my favorites I own.

Dock skipping rod?
The higher end sv reels are great for skipping. I don't see how the new tatula sv will differ in any way.

What are you going to use it for. The sv 103 is great for skipping and throwing light baits in the wind, but shorter distance. The Tatula ct type-r is a workhorse and great for long casts and heavy cover. The zillion sv tw is my favorite great control and good distance and handles everything.

Dobyn's 703/704 and 733/734 rod
734 all the way except for chatterbaits. A day of throwing chatterbaits on a fast action rod will wear you out and send you home shaking.

Best Rod For Great Lakes Smallmouth
I use the 7' moderate action for spinners and jerkbaits, use a mhf 7'3" for jigs and swimbaits and mf 6'6" -7' for dropshots.

Best Rod For Great Lakes Smallmouth
The stradic 2500 is perfect for them. I would use a 7' to 7'3" rod with a medium action and moderate tip to keep the big fish from pulling off or breaking the line.

Wait for the ct sv for throwing light baits. The sv in all daiwas gives you better control. I have the zillion sv tw, sv103, and a tatula ct type-r. The tatula is great for long casts on 3/8 and larger baits, the other two can handle ned rigs, weightless plastics, and light topwaters and jerkbaits in strong winds. The downside of the sv is distance, they still throw far enough jut don't expect mile long distance. But they excel at skipping baits.
