  1. YES it will I fish big swimbaits in Erie as they are always eating trout that come out of the creeks.
  2. The largemouth have moved back and forth and finally are on beds now here. The smallies in Erie are not even fanning beds yet.
  3. Friday was a high pressure cold front with only 5 largemouth, biggest being 1.5#. Saturday was windy rainy and shutdown. Sunday bright skies and low pressure and warming water all day got the bait up on the flats and once I found them the bite got better all day. 36 total, my wife caught 6 and I caught 29 all over 2# and several over 3#. Erie is always in control but some days she gives up her bounty.
  4. You missed nothing. Could not fish the bay it was so windy. I caught lots of lgmouth in the lagoon, they are on beds.
  5. Folly's End Campground. I use to live in Herminie and fished the yough a lot, Great smallie fishing there.
  6. Brad, I will send you a pm with my contact info. I have a camp near there and fish it all year. I can point you in the right direction.
  7. Not quite I figure it was just under 5 lbs and 19"
  8. Yes they are there. That was the biggest one on friday.
  9. Yes they have started to come in. The weekend of the 7th should be the best weekend to be there if you like crowds. This weekend should be good but maybe not as many fish and boats.
  10. I agree summer is whole different story but the pressure is no where near the same.
  11. There are no secret spots in the spring just find the 50 other boats and join in on the fun. and if that is not your style join the other 50 in the other area.
  12. The first reports of a few smallies in the bay. The perch have moved out to the lake and that is usually a couple weeks before the masses come into the bay.
  13. black/blue and green pumpkin are always good but a long forgotten color is purple. All the first worms were purple and now with all the other colors on the market many forget about it. I still use it and brown alot and outfish many guys with alot of the newer colors.
  14. Welcome and get on the water now. We had an awesome day on Pymy yesterday. Fishing has heated up.
  15. They are the best but have little to no bass lures.
  16. No one fishes for 7-8 pounders but 17-20 pounds in 5 fish is usually the goal for tournament guys.
  17. Just go fishing and pay attention to your partner. Every tournament will be a learning experience, But only do it if you have money to throw away. Have fun and the fish should be really shallow when you go.
  18. I am from Butler, but have a camp at pymy, and Fairview. The only Tourneys are at Pymy this time of the year, since all the rest of the lakes are catch and release this time of the year. What tourney are you fishing and when? There are so many this time of the year there? I will be fishing on May 1st with Reynoldsville.
  19. Converted my mother in-law with deep fried walleye, now she doesn't even want any old bass.
  20. Pymatuning is a great lake for Jigs, worms, chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. Squarebills work but plan on losing a few. And if the water is above 60 topwaters and buzzbaits.
  21. Wow, if I had known about all the other Tourneys I would not have signed up for the Big bass tourney.
  22. We put them on slider jigs and crush the bass with them. It is a great limit catcher with an occasional big fish.
  23. I use 1/6 and 1/4 oz. roostertails for the smalies in erie and the local rivers. I have landed 5# smallies on them. I even caught 2 steelhead and 5 smallies in elk creek in 3 hrs with them.
