Daiwa TDZ 103H inductor problem

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I have this Tdz that I have had for a while now that is starting to have some problems. Every once in a while, the inductor will stick (not spring outward like it should during a cast) When it happens, it causes one heck of a professional over run and I normally end up having to cut it out. When I pull the side plate off it is pretty difficult to pull the inductor outward, but once I do get it to move it will work flawlessly for a little while. I have tried lightly oiling it with lightweight bearing oil, and it didn't help much at all. Is there anything I can do to free this bad boy up? Or do I just need to go ahead and upgrade the spool? I'm hoping someone else has had this problem before and can point me in the right direction. Thanks for looking!

If you haven't , try cleaning the whole spool with simple green and hot water. If there's a little grit in there just adding oil won't fix it.

Excellent excuse to upgrade for a SV spool. :devil3:

Actually, make it two spools, a deep  :devil3: and a shallow:devil3:.

I have been really leaning towards this solution, I really like the way they perform in the alphas. I think I will go ahead and order a steez sv105 spool.

Yar, that's my solution to a sticky inductor. Make sure it's purple or it won't work properly.

Sv spool is a great upgrade to a tdz. There have been issues with the inductor getting stuck in the out position sometimes though. Just something to be aware of.
