The big Tex (as)

Featured Replies

So,  the ol lady and I have neither been to Texas.  So we decided to plan on a vacation there this august.  We are planning on being gone 9 days.

Anyways,  we will be driving and I was curious if there are any must go to places,  events, ect...

We are planning on staying in several places to check out the state.  We are planning on staying in Dallas,  black Rock by Austin,  San Antonio,  Memphis as of right now.

Any insight would be great!

Thanks guys

Depends what you're interested in. I love Texas. My wife and I even went there on our honeymoon, a week in Port Aransas by the coast and a week out at Big Bend National Park. It has about everything.

Lived here all my life and I just want to warn you August and Texas is hot for you guys that come to visit from the northern parts. Make sure your prepared. Light clothes sun block etc

As far as places to visit I'm no event planner and really don't get into visiting stuff. But here are a few

Fish Lake Fork home of the record LMB caught by Barry StClair.

Fish or just admire Caddo Lake pretty cool lake. Watch for gaters.

Visit Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas and the Kimbell addition in Fort Worth.

Pretty good list here http://keranews.org/post/here-are-39-things-you-should-do-texas-you-die
