Some people hate this bait some people love it. Any thoughts on the Spro bronzeye shad?

I used the pumpkinseed color last year and caught a LOT of fish with it.  Almost 100% hookup ratio, walks really well, fish seem to like it in open water next to cover.  Just don't let 3 or 4 pike get into it.  Not made for that kind of abuse...

It's a nice little bait. It walks/glides a lot more than the original Bronzeye frog. Like lecisnith said, it's more of an open water bait for working the outside edges of cover, or skipping docks. 

I have a black one and the killer gill colors. 

They come through the weeds easily. 

They cast easily.

Hookup seems good.

Both I had leaked water from the package and required glue - called Spro customer support and they said I would need to glue it - Nice. I expected more from a $10 frog. I use Booyah now.

 

i like them!  they're nice durable well made frogs.  spro and booyah pad crashers are the only ones i fish.

How do you fish it. When I try to fish it like a regular walking bait it only moves to one side

Twitch it moving the rod tip down and make sure to allow the line to go slack as soon as you move it so it has the freedom to glide. It walks very easily.

First off, make sure the tails aren't all stuck together or wrapped around the hooks. Then as bluebasser said when you twitch your rod tip down you need to give the bait slack to allow it to swing to the side and then when you twitch again it will bring it back. It's a little different to walk than the regular frog, but it's only a little adjustment and you should have it down in no time. 

Mine sank from the time I purchased them also. So I haven't fished it but once and wasn't able to walk it obviously. Guess I will have to break them out and glue em up. I take it u glue/epoxy it where the hooks enter the body?

Never had mine sink...*shrug*

 

They walk great but i dont really frog in open water.  Id rather use other lures.

Contact Spro, I'm sure they'll take care of you if it's a defect like it sounds like. 

I have one that works great, and one that sinks.
