I throw top water baits (trebles) on mono, I find and not that it's very often but a treble hook can get wrapped around the braid from time to time.  Not a huge deal, but it certainly can ruin a great cast.  

With the amount of twist you would think I was throwing it on a spinning set up but it was on my casting setup. I didn't directly tie on to the lure I used a snap to attach it.

      I wouldn't use flouro for a top water since flouro sinks. I'll let others chime in on the lb test, but I'd use mono or braid.

      I throw mine on 50lb power pro and it works perfectly

      Mono or braid sounds like the best suitable line for this topwater lure.
