Duckett ghost vs veritas 2.0

Featured Replies

I've had both the ghost was more sensitive but the guides on the ghost don't hold up too well against braid. The ceramic guides on the veritas are pretty fragile though.

Look into the abu garcia vendetta rod. I have a 7'3" med heavy and it works great for frogs

Out of those two, the Veritas. They run a little stiffer too which can be beneficial to frog fishing. I do believe that within that $100 price range, you can find other better options. But as I stated, between those two, I'd go Veritas.

My frog rod is a Veritas original series and back then they did not offer a frog version. Like others have said a Veritas rod runs a little heavier in action than they list., Their lure weight listed on the rods ( including the new Veritas 2s) are correct, but if they say a rod is Medium it will be almost Medium heavy.  I first purchased an original Veritas Heavy and it was too much so I purchased a Veritas MH. That rod works great. I caught them on sale so I did not mind. The Veritas Heavy is like a Mag Heavy and it will work well for big jigs on deep ledges.  If you are paying around $100 bucks for those rods I would seriously consider a Powell Inferno model 725CF Mag Heavy. It will run you $109.00. Tackle Warehouse has three in stock These rods are really nice.

I agree with UKCATBASSER.  I like the Ghost's actions better, but the Veritas is super strong for frogging.
