  1. Yes. It’s great line for cranks and jerkbaits. It has a lot more stretch than regular fluro...hence the avoidance for jigs and Texas rigs. I have it on my spinnerbait, squarebill, deep crank rods.
  2. I was planning to spool with 18 pound for flipping and pitching and then when I ledge fish drop down to 16. On my Curado 70 i used 20 pound fluro but was limited to flipping and slight roll casting. If I needed something for a full cast I had to use another setup. That’s why I was thinking about getting another reel or looking for a reel that would be good for both. The anti backlash has me intrigued for flipping and pitching and skipping.
  3. So on my pitching rod I currently have a Curado 70 reel. I was wanting to purchase another reel to use on the same rod for football jigs and ledge baits on KY lake. As the 70 doesn’t hold much line and throwing big jigs it’s easy to cast far etc. instead of having two reels for two different scenarios, I was thinking of getting a Tatula SV and selling the Curado. Using the SV for both pitching and throwing big jigs. Is this the model I should be looking at? How big are the SV’s? Say compared to a Curado 70?
  4. I have a 853 NRX and stop at 3/8 plus plastic. Then I move up to 873 after that.
  5. No experience with any Daiwa, but the Curado K is money.
  6. Local tackle store owner per his rep.
  7. They are discountining the Havoc line. They only bait they will keep is the pit boss which will be moved into the powerbalt line.
  8. Bandit cranks 200 and 300 tubes like someone mentioned underspins 2.5 SK
  9. I use a variety of grubs. I like choppers twin tail in root beer green as a football jig trailer. Also like the GYCB twin tails for the same. I use their single tail in baby bass color on a darter head to swim in the winter. The zoom fat Alberta are my go to on swim jigs. Finally the rage menace is good when you want a little more action.
  10. Have you tried the shakey head NRX rod? It should be right in the middle of the DSR and 852S. May be what you're looking for.
  11. I have a megabass flat side Special for jerks and top waters.
  12. I spent the Holidays replacing all the hooks on my strike king products. 5xd 6xd 1.5 2.5 red eye shad all others I will leave factory on unless they get damaged or dull
  13. He used a Mustad Grip Pin 3/0.
  14. I love throwing the 3.3 on a 1/8 head with spinning gear. Use a 852S Loomis.
  15. What size hooks and split rings you all reccomend? Same here. Should've moved on these yesterday lol
  16. Typically I want a trailer with less action. If I am throwing a football jig I like a twin tail grub trailer. For a brush/Arlie jig i use a zoom big salty chunk and small chunk. You just want it sit on the bottom and let it open up with the strands of the jig etc.
  17. For flipping and pitching with 20 pound line. Too small? What pound test have you all tried?
  18. Plastics jigs square bills
  19. I see this color reccomend on hear a lot. Which version? SP or OB? which water clarity would this be good for? Sunny or cloudy etc. thanks
  20. Sorry to piggyback but when reeling it down to depth do you real fast for say 4/5 seconds then let it sit. Then start the rip rip pause?
  21. I suspect within the next few days this thread will be blowing up with the Black Friday deals. Already have a few carts loaded up. Just need to submit lol.
  22. I'm wanting to try some 4 inch grubs and 3.3 Keitechs on 1/8 and 1/4 round jig heads for finesse presentations this winter. What size hook should i be looking for?
  23. If you want a rod just for vertical drop shorting then get that rod. But like others have said, very whippy and doesn't lend itself to hook setting techniques like tubes or shakey heads. The 852 is a great all around rod. It will not due drop shots perfectly but will work. Wanting something a little more towards shakey and drop shotting then get a syr series.
