Braid to leader or straight fluoro for drop shot

Option C. Braid, no leader.

I voted straight fluoro. I tend to cast the drop shot more than fish it vertically. Fluoro gives better sensitivity on a slack line than braid. This is important because wind is almost always a factor where I live, which creates more slack in your line. Having that added sensitivity, especially when windy is important to me.

I've thought about that. Are you fishing in extremely clear water? How about water over 20 feet. Why straight braid? How are your results? Please elaborate.

All the water I fish is clear. I only fish braid. I don't believe bass are spooked by fishing line. I have no reason to use fluoro for leaders or the mainline.

Less time bsing around with leader material and or knots

Zero chance of a leader knot failure.

Same here. If that fish is spooked by the line you weren't making a very good presentation with the bait. 

I've never has issue catching fish with straight braid.

I don't understand lol the water is clear. Nearly 15 foot visibility 

Straight fluorocarbon. I hate braid for 90% of what I throw.

I run 20lb PP to 10lb P-Line fluoro. 

The one thing that took my drop shot game to a completely different level is getting away from nose hooking and going to a light wire straight shank. It is rigged weedless so you can fish it anywhere with no worries and you literally never miss fish. 

It will blow your mind when you realize how many fish you were missing on a nose hook that you didn't even know were there. You don't have to set up or even apply pressure, you just work your drop shot like you normally would when casting. Then suddenly you just have a fish on. 

Before you reply with how much of an expert you are go buy a pack of 2/0 light wire Gammy straight shanks and a pack of 7" M3 Robos and throw them for a day. It will change your life, I promise.

I have to try that this year, I have really only ever nose hooked. But I am sure being able to fish it in thicker cover would do wonders this summer.

Man I ask a question because I value all yalls opinion. I'm far from an expert! Thanks for your time and input I will try it out!

A great technique as the grass gets close to the surface is run a 1/8oz weight between two and three feet below your worm and just work it through the grass. It climbs up the thick parts and drops down into pockets. It's gnarley.
